THE WORLD IS NO PERFECT... BUT LET'S TRY MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY FOR A BETTER WORLD
Research
The main research interests of our group are the development of new pharmacological agents and the identification of therapeutic targets.
We are carrying out several research lines on four fields of major relevance for human health nowadays: cancer, CNS-associated diseases, infectious diseases and aging.
We are also implementing phenotypic approaches to identify therapeutic targets and to find new molecular entities both in mammalian cells and in the human microbiota. In this part of the work, our objective is to develop methodologies that generate de novo information about the physiological and/or pathological state of the biological system under study. To achieve this goal we are combining medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and proteomics, expecting that the integration of these methodologies will provide us with a reliable and complete picture of the complexity of the biological system under study.
