Ana Andrea Escobar Peña was born in El Salvador in 1992. In 2012 she received a fellowship from the Ministry of Education of her motherland for studying Chemistry at Complutense University of Madrid. Currently she is working on the final project of her degree under the supervision of María Luz López Rodríguez.
In the summer of 2015, she received a fellowship from “Obra Social Fundació la Caixa” for starting her research career at Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ) where she worked on “New catalytic C-H functionalization strategies for chemical synthesis” headed by Dr. Marcos Suero. Moreover, that year she carried out practices at Instituto Nacional de Innovación Agraria y Alimentaria (INIA), working on “Establishment and characterization of Trophoblastic Cell Lines from Bovine Embryos” under the supervision of Dr. Miguel Ángel Ramírez de Paz.
Under the direct supervision of Dra. Silvia Ortega and Debora Zian she is working on development of new ligands of the lysophosphatidic acid receptor, obtaining his PhD in chemistry in 2023.
